AnkiGate is designed with privacy in mind. The app runs entirely on your device and does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data.

Data Collection

AnkiGate does not collect any data. Specifically:

- No personal information is collected
- No usage analytics or tracking
- No data is sent to any server
- No third-party services or SDKs are included

Data Stored on Your Device

AnkiGate stores your preferences locally on your device using Android's SharedPreferences. This includes your selected decks and blocked apps. This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

Permissions

AnkiGate requests the following Android permissions, all of which are used solely for core functionality:

- Usage Access: To detect which app is in the foreground so it can be blocked if needed.
- Display Over Other Apps: To show the blocking screen when a blocked app is opened.
- AnkiDroid Database Access: To read due card counts from your AnkiDroid decks.
- Notifications: Required by Android for the foreground service that monitors app usage.
- Boot Completed: To restart monitoring after a device reboot.

Children's Privacy

AnkiGate does not collect any data from anyone, including children.
